David Rogers, Psy.D., LMFT is a California-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and health educator who presents continuing education programs for licensed mental health professionals across the state. He holds a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, Sacramento—an institution recognized for its clinical excellence and research contributions to the field.

David earned his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) with a focus on session-level outcomes in advanced brief strategic paradoxical interventions. His doctoral work also included extensive training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and his research interests span session-specific change processes, therapeutic and pathogenic paradoxes, mediators of transformation in therapy, and the development of novel, outcome-focused treatment approaches.

In addition to his clinical work, David offers comprehensive ADHD assessment services that are designed to meet a wide range of client needs. His approach is flexible, accessible, and scalable—providing evidence-based evaluation options that accommodate diverse circumstances, budgets and can be completed remotely. Whether clients are seeking an initial screening or a full diagnostic workup, David’s model emphasizes clarity, precision, and real-world applicability. He also continues to provide continuing education services for a variety of public and private organizations across the state of California, equipping mental health professionals with practical tools and up-to-date knowledge.

Earlier in his career, David led a team of after-hours crisis mental health clinicians at two emergency departments in Placer County through Sierra Mental Wellness Group. There, he also created and directed Sierra’s Continuing Education division, gaining accreditation from the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and developing innovative training programs and tools for fellow clinicians.

He was nationally certified as a trainer in Assessing and Managing Suicidal Risk (AMSR)—a widely adopted, evidence-based framework developed by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center and the American Association of Suicidology. He has completed the EFT Externship and continues to integrate attachment-based insights into his couples work.

Throughout his clinical career, David has successfully treated a wide range of issues, including couples conflict, parent-child relational difficulties, men’s issues, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, low self-esteem, compulsive behaviors, and treatment-resistant depression. He is known for delivering interventions that are both research-informed and highly personalized. His goal in therapy is to inspire lasting, meaningful change that helps people reclaim more joy, clarity, and connection in their lives.

A third-generation Californian, David finds balance and inspiration through travel, nature, and creative expression. Outside of the therapy room, he enjoys paddleboarding on Lake Tahoe, producing electronic music, and exploring the world—often through ethical and humane wildlife experiences. His travels have brought him into close contact with elephants, sloths, tigers, bobcats, and a mischievous tribe of long-tailed macaques. He has journeyed throughout Europe, Japan, and Thailand, always driven by a passion for understanding people and the world around them.

While David’s clinical knowledge and customized approach set him apart, those who know him say it’s his genuine connection with others that makes the experience of working with him both effective and memorable.
